NIGERIA: FIRST OF ITS KIND HUMAN RIGHTS FOCUSED RADIO STATION LAUNCHED IN ABUJA

A first of its kind radio station was yesterday launched in Nigeria’s federal capital territory, Abuja. The radio station FM 101.1 said to be the very first of its kind in the world with focus on human rights was yesterday launched by the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed.

According to the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohmmed, who was also chief host of the commissioning, Government understands very clearly the concept of human rights and was taking the responsibility of the struggle for the rights of the Nigerian citizens.

”Nobody has the interest of the human rights of the citizen better than the government. The Human right radio is doing a great job by complementing what the government is doing.

The new radio station is an off-shoot of the Berekete Human Right radio show hosted by Mr Ahmed Isa.
