Watching the young and handsome Gaise, real name Ibuoye Akinade on stage do his thing really is a ministration on its own, recently performing at the KICC Maryland, Nigeria Christmas carol, the young energetic dude thrilled the audience as he performed ‘Follow, follow’ a song off his first album. No doubt, not many musical acts have a good command of the stage with strong lyrical content and positive message as he does.

Signed onto ‘Sanctified Records’ just about two years ago immediately upon completion of his NYSC in February 2010, he went on to release his first album in August 2011, a twelve tracker which introduced him unto the Nigerian music scene. The video of the lead single “Follow Follow” was nominated for the Best Indigenous Concept at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2011 and for Best Video at the Africa Entertainment Awards 2012 in Malaysia, while he won The Scepters Award for New Revelation in 2011.

On what inspires his lyrical content he says ‘The desire to contribute positively to my society keeps pushing me to make music and particularly the kind of content-driven music that I make, as I believe that the music of a people can influence the culture of the people’.
