ECA: POSITIVE TREND IN AFRICA’S AID FOR TRADE BUT MORE INTERVENTIONS NEEDED

061413_1123_positivetre1Africa is continually showing positive results as a result of the AfT Initiative launched in 2005 but more interventions are needed urgently to overcome short and long term constraints bedeviling development in Africa. This is the summation of the message embodied in a new publication by the Economic Commission in Africa titled “African Case Studies: A Snapshot of Aid for Trade on the Ground in Africa”. The publication captures progress report from a total of 114 submitted case stories.
According to the report which captures events between  2002 and 2005, increased momentum has been sustained in commitments and disbursements with the structure of allocations remaining the same.
